Taiwan is a destination of contrasts, where bustling cities, centuries-old traditions, lush mountains and dramatic coastlines all come together on one relatively compact island. Taipei is the perfect introduction, combining towering skyscrapers and lively night markets with historic temples, hot springs and neighbourhoods filled with independent cafes and local character. Beyond the capital, Taiwan opens up into a world of misty mountain landscapes, peaceful lakes, colourful coastal towns and a fascinating mix of Chinese, Japanese and Indigenous influences. Whether you’re drawn to the food, culture, nature, cities or simply want to experience somewhere a little different, Taiwan has plenty to discover.

Taipei is a brilliant place to begin, combining modern city life with traditional culture, incredible food and plenty of local character. Visit Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, explore historic temples and neighbourhoods, take in the views from Taipei 101 or spend an evening sampling street food at one of the city’s famous night markets. Beyond the capital, discover the atmospheric mountain town of Jiufen, relax in the hot springs of Beitou or explore the dramatic scenery along Taiwan’s northern coast.
Further afield, Taiwan offers a huge variety of landscapes and experiences. Explore the scenic east coast, cycle around the peaceful Sun Moon Lake, wander the historic streets and temples of Tainan or experience the vibrant atmosphere of Kaohsiung. Head south to Kenting for beaches and coastal scenery, or venture into the mountains for hiking trails, waterfalls, tea plantations and peaceful villages surrounded by lush scenery.
Accommodation ranges from sleek city hotels and stylish boutique stays to traditional guesthouses, hot spring resorts and relaxing coastal escapes. Whether you’re planning a city break, a food-focused adventure, a scenic road trip, your first trip to Asia, or want to combine Taiwan with another destination, I can create a trip around the places and experiences you want to discover.
