The Story Behind Pretty Planet

A little about me…

Hello and welcome to Pretty Planet! I’m Tula, a 38-year-old travel addict from Milton Keynes in the UK. I’ve had a lifelong case of wanderlust and a love of exploring the world. I’m married to Sean, and we have a little home in Milton Keynes with our 2 cats. In April 2025, after 10 years flying as cabin crew, I left my job and went full-time with Pretty Planet. Since then, I’ve been travelling full-time while living in Asia. It’s allowed me to combine my biggest passions, exploring the world and building Pretty Planet into the business I’ve always dreamed of.

My love of travel started at a young age when I was in school. I always knew I wanted to see the world, so studying Travel and Tourism felt like a natural choice. I studied it at college and university and have now spent 20 years working across the travel industry. My career has taken me from hotels and travel agencies to travel after-sales support, as well as 10 years in the skies as cabin crew. For years, I ran Pretty Planet alongside flying. I squeezed in itinerary planning, created travel guides and built the business around layovers, days off and annual leave. Eventually, I realised I wanted to make it my full-time career.

Today, I’m proud to be a self-employed small business owner running my own travel agency and tour company while travelling the world along the way. It might sound like a dream, and honestly, it really is! But getting here has taken years of planning, saving, hard work and plenty of determination. Pretty Planet is a huge part of my journey, and I’m so grateful you’re here. My travels around the world

Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to explore some incredible places. From flashpacking and living as a digital nomad across Asia to exploring New Zealand by campervan, snorkelling in the turquoise waters of the Cook Islands and taking myself on plenty of solo adventures, travel has taken me in all sorts of directions. There have been weekend escapes around Europe, countless crew layovers and far more trips than I could ever count. I’ve now visited 93 countries across 6 continents, and Asia has completely stolen my heart along the way. My travel style is mostly mid-range, with the occasional splurge when something feels worth it.

How Pretty Planet started

I launched Pretty Planet in 2017 as a little passion project, a place to share destination guides, practical travel tips and everything I loved about exploring the world. Travel has always been a huge part of my life, and after years of working in the travel industry, I dreamed of turning that passion into something of my own. Since those early days, Pretty Planet has grown far beyond the travel blog I first imagined, evolving into a full travel agency where I plan holidays and host my own small-group adventures around the world. And for those who prefer to plan independently, I’ve created a collection of digital guides, itineraries and practical travel resources in my online shop and blog to make planning your next adventure a little easier.

Giving back to our planet

As a small business, I believe in giving back to our planet. Pretty Planet has so far planted 310 trees through Just One Tree, creating rural employment, restoring habitats, and absorbing around 95.48 tonnes of CO2 as they grow over the next 25 years. I’ve also adopted a piece of coral through Coral Gardeners, which will be planted in Fiji to help regenerate vital reef ecosystems. Giving back goes beyond the environment, and so far Pretty Planet has donated over £330 to charitable causes around the world to help support people, communities and our planet.
